Jazz Vespers is a derivative of the ancient church’s evening vespers or evening prayers service fused together with the musical genre of jazz. From the vespers tradition we will lift up individual and collective prayers, as well as hear music from a jazz organ trio featuring organist Andre Brinson, percussionist Larry Q. Draughn, Jr. and saxophonist Sean T. McClure (MDiv ‘19).

Saturday
The Annual Wake Forest Easter Vigil
March 30, 2024 | 7:30 p.m. | Wait Chapel
This service invites us to lean into what it means to keep vigil in contemporary times as people face stark realities and frightening uncertainties in their lives and communities. Keeping vigil as a spiritual practice cultivates attentiveness to what is happening in the world and to how God is with us in this present moment.
