Wake Forest University School of Divinity announces the retirement of beloved professor Jill Y. Crainshaw (’84)

Winston-Salem, N.C. — Today, Wake Forest University School of Divinity announced the retirement of beloved professor Jill Y. Crainshaw (’84). 

Professor Crainshaw will conclude her teaching at the end of this academic year and will then take a well-earned one-year sabbatical before retiring from the University in 2027. 

“Jill has been with the School of Divinity since its beginning in 1999,” said Dean Corey D. B. Walker. “She has been a blessing to thousands of students, colleagues, alumni, and friends of the School and the University. Her wisdom, imagination, and abiding commitment to our shared life and work has shaped our distinctive theological community. We look forward to celebrating her tremendous contributions in the coming weeks and months as she prepares for the next stage in her audacious journey.”
