Wake Forest University School of Divinity welcomed its inaugural class of Doctor of Ministry (DMin) students, representing the newest doctoral degree program at the university.

The Doctor of Ministry program offers professional doctoral education to accomplished faith leaders, equipping them to address the complex realities of ministry in our society. With a rigorous academic curriculum taught by Wake Divinity’s outstanding faculty, this three-year doctoral program creates a dynamic learning environment to support transformational leadership.

“The Doctor of Ministry program marks a significant milestone for the School of Divinity,” said Corey D. B. Walker, dean and Wake Forest Professor of Humanities. “We are excited to welcome this inaugural class of exceptional faith leaders who will bring their vast experience into our program where they can deepen their theological understanding and expand their capacity to effect positive change in their communities.”

The Doctor of Ministry program convenes a diverse group of leaders, including congregational leaders, educators, law and health professionals, non-profit managers, and other professionals. This diversity of doctoral students reflects the program’s commitment to preparing faith leaders who collaborate across various sectors to imagine and implement innovative solutions for the complex challenges facing our society and world.

“The diverse backgrounds of our students, combined with the expertise of our faculty, create a powerful synergy that will undoubtedly contribute to the flourishing of the organizations and communities they serve,” said John Senior, assistant dean of Vocational Formation and Doctoral Education.

As the School of Divinity celebrates its 25th anniversary, the Doctor of Ministry program marks a critical point in the life of the school as it continues to fulfill its commitment to preparing agents of justice, reconciliation, and compassion who are equipped to lead in an ever-changing world.
