From Seminary to Society: Journeys of Legacy, Loss, and Hope

Southern Baptist Seminary Reunion
An Ecumenical Gathering of Former Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Students

Join us this August in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a weekend of reconnection, reflection, and renewal.

Hosted by Wake Forest University School of Divinity – a theological community rooted in justice, reconciliation, and compassion – this special gathering will bring together alumni, friends, and families of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to remember a formative era and to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Bill J. Leonard, renowned historian, beloved mentor, and visionary educator.

In a moment marked by cultural and ecclesial division, we come together across time and geography to honor the enduring bonds of friendship, theological inquiry, and spiritual renewal.

Friday evening will welcome SBTS alumni and friends to reflect on a moment of academic vitality and theological challenge – an era profoundly shaped by the leadership and mentorship of Dr. Bill J. Leonard.

Saturday will expand the circle to include faculty, students, colleagues, and friends of Wake Forest University School of Divinity and beyond in honoring Dr. Leonard’s extraordinary 50-year legacy in theological education. Together, we will reflect on the significance of his work and explore faithful paths forward in an era of rising ideological rigidity and religious nationalism.

This gathering is more than a reunion – it is a testimony to generations who lean into hope and ask what it means to live, love, and lead with courage, conscience, and compassion.
