The second Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity (MACHE) Bowl was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Three teams, consisting of eleven members each, were challenged to create solutions to fictional health disparity situations focused on obesity and diabetes . Teams were comprised of graduate students from Appalachian State University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Winston-Salem State University, and Wake Forest University. Three Master of Divinity students participated in the competition. Crystal Rook, a first year student, was a member of the winning team (pictured above). Congratuations to Crystal, her fellow team members, and all the participants for their hard work and dedication to this important event.
