Fred Bahnson, Director of the Food, Faith and Religious Leadership Initiative, will be one of the featured speakers at TEDx Manhattan on February 16, 2013 in New York City. The theme, “Changing the Way We Eat,” will host various speakers with varied backgrounds in food and farming, sharing their insights and expertise. One specific highlight of the event is the ample time that will be given for attendees to meet each other and look for new synergies and new ideas to help bolster the sustainable food movement. Bahnson will be giving a talk titled, Soil & Sacrament: Four Seasons Among the Keepers of the Earth.

About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. This event is called TEDxManhattan “Changing the Way We Eat”, where x = independently organized TED event. At the TEDxManhattan event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
