This Week: February 25 – March 1February 25, 2013
Guest Author: John Senior, Director of the Art of Ministry and Assistant Professor of the Practice of Religion and Society
As you begin to plan your summer, we encourage you to think big about ministry opportunities available to you. Generous gifts from donors and foundations make possible each year several internship awards that fund both summer and academic year (2013-2014) internship placements. Some of these awards support internship opportunities in particular settings. Others are open to ministry internships in any setting. These awards enable you to think creatively about how you can experience the life and work of ministry this summer and the next academic year. Students who receive internship awards will have an opportunity to reflect on their experiences through a required one-credit specialized summer internship course. Deadline for submitting applications by email to John Senior, Director of the Art of Ministry, is March 8, 2013.
- Details about applying for internship awards can be found here.
- The deadline for applying for awards is March 8, 2013.
In addition to internship awards, a number of local and regional ministry settings have advertised paid summer internship opportunities on the School of Divinity website. Please check them out here.
Please direct any questions you have about these matters to John Senior at email@example.com.
Three Gatherings on Embodiment and Christian Practice – Thursday, February 28 at Various Times and Locations
Rev. Dr. Marcia Mount Shoop, author, preacher, teacher, and facilitator will lead three gatherings on theological reflection and embodied practice. Many expressions of American culture prefer intellect and scientific proof, leading the body to often be dismissed as a source of wisdom. Dr. Shoop will guide students on how to talk about, reflect on, and live into how we meet God in embodied experience. Add to your calendar.
