Spoken Word
This will be the first of a series of worship services offered at an alternative time. This is in addition to the regularly scheduled Tuesday community worship.
Guest leader, Valerie Bridgeman, will join us for this service. Professor Bridgeman is Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible/Homiletics and Worship and Scholar of Theology and the Arts at Lancaster Theological Seminary. She has also served as general editor and consultant for the United Methodist Church’s Africana Worship project. She is also a published and nationally acclaimed poet. A jazz ensemble will provide music for the service — Matt Kendrick, on the faculty of the Department of Music, has agreed to be a part of this ensemble along with some undergraduate music students.
