About Bryan Loritts
Bryan Loritts is the Lead Pastor of Fellowship Memphis Church, a multi-ethnic church ministering to the urban Memphis community. In addition to serving the community of Memphis, Bryan’s ministry takes him across the country as he speaks to thousands annually at churches, conferences, and retreats. He is the author of God on Paper and A Cross Shaped Gospel. He is also the author of two new important books, Letters to a Birmingham Jail, which imagines anew Martin Luther King Jr.’s beloved community of racial inclusion at the looming sunset of the Obama era, and Right Color/Wrong Culture, which offers tactics for racially inclusive Christian leadership. He was also a contributing author for the book entitled Great Preaching. Bryan was recently voted as one of the top thirty emerging Christian leaders in the country by Outreach magazine.
Akoni is a student organization of Wake Forest University School of Divinity dedicated to providing a platform for students of African ancestry and all registered students, faculty, and staff to explore theological education focused on the black religious experience, the Black Church as an expression of black religion, and the social, religious and political needs and concerns of the students and the black community.
