Mary Ellen Walter has been named Assistant Director of Academic Services and Assistant Registrar for Wake Forest University School of Divinity. Walter has been with the School of Divinity for over 11 years and previously served as Assistant Registrar and Office Manager in Admissions. In each of her roles she has been a source of knowledge, wisdom, and support for students navigating their academic journey.

“I’m excited to take on this new role and continue to help students as part of the Academic Affairs team,” said Walter. “The highlight of my job has always been witnessing our students grow and accomplish their goals. This new role expands the ways I get to interact with students and contribute to their academic success.”

Walter’s new role comes at a time of reflection and growth for the School of Divinity. As assistant director of academic services and assistant registrar, she will manage advising, registration, and degree audit services for both the Master of Divinity program and new Doctor of Ministry program. Walker. “As we boldly move into doctoral education and enhance our overall graduate student experience, Mary Ellen has the requisite expertise and professional acumen that adds value to our signature graduate theological community. I am delighted that she will be a leader in managing our student-centered academic resources and will assist in strategically positioning Wake Divinity to take advantage of emerging opportunities to enhance the overall academic experience.”
