Cost and Logistics

The entire course will take place on the campus of Warren Wilson College. There will be a good bit of walking involved, with daily trips between classroom, dorm, and cafeteria, as well as some walking with the afternoon permaculture workshop. If you have limited mobility issues, please contact Fred Bahnson directly to discuss.

Meals

The Commuter rate only includes lunches and Thursday’s dinner. The Double and Single Room rates include all meals except Wednesday night. Meals take place in the Warren Wilson Cafeteria, which sources some of its food from the Warren Wilson College gardens and farm.

Lodging

Lodging will be in the Eco Dorm on the Warren Wilson campus. The dorm is comfortable, clean, simple, and designed with ecological principals. Single and double rooms are available. The dorm features a small kitchenette if you need to bring your own food. Your dorm room will share a bathroom with other rooms on the hall. If you require a private bathroom, or you’d like something a bit more upscale than a dorm room, we suggest you book a nearby hotel and chose the Commuter Rate.

Travel

The nearest airport is Asheville (AVL), located roughly a half-hour from Warren Wilson College campus. In terms of getting to Warren Wilson College from the airport, there are multiple taxi and shuttle services you can choose from, starting at around $20/person one way. In the past, participants have had good success with Grandy Transportation (828.691.0504). If you’re driving, there will be free parking on campus during your stay.
